Follow the upper rad hose from the rad ot the engine and there is a housing with the thermostat inside. TAke the 2 bolts holding it on out and remove the thermostat. When replacing it make sure the spring is toward the engine. Mine had three nuts. Piece o cake to change-20 minutes. 1993 Beretta

Remove the water hose from the top of your 1996 Chevrolet 2500 thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts. Lift the old thermostat out and drop in the new thermostat.
The thermostat is on the water pump.(the left side in the front of the car) 2 screws to take out that's all
oil leaks

The voltage regulator is built into the alternator.
The 3.1 was a V6
it is located behind the pullys for the serpentine belt as things go in beretta this is one of the least pain in the butt thins to change
kick it.
