i did this not to long ago.i need to replace my water pump and decide might as well to all my belts to.go pick a chiltons book on the corolla and it will get you through it.the only thing i have to say is get the right timing marks.there are a bunch of "marks" that can have guessing.study the picture found in book.with me as a beginer on work on cars it took me about 6-8 hours to do the pump and all belts.
how to set timing- A dot camshaft sproket line up with a cut mark on camshaft bearing cap at about 11 O'clock (you have to take out the camshaft sproket or look through the hole closely to see the cut mark on camshaft bearing cap) and on the on crank pully also have a cut mark line up with the "0" on the timing belt cover. (at about 1 O'clock).....
