Remove the center retaining nut on the tensioner. You will need to use something to jam the pulley, so it will not turn.
Loosen the tensioner pulley. Put the fan belt around the pulleys. Pry the tensioner pulley to the right until the belt is tight. Tighten the tensioner pulley nut.
There is a crankshaft pulley, alternator pulley, power steering pump pulley, AC pulley, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, etc.

It will be the smooth pulley(s)-not ribbed.
You will need to remove the front engine cover, on your 1997 Pontiac Bonneville, in order to change the supercharger belt. Loosen the tensioner pulley to remove the belt.
There should be a spring loaded tensioner pulley. If the pulley isn't holding the belt sufficiently tight you may need to replace the tensioner.
It's spring loaded, use a wrench or socket to move it. If it's really stuck it may be seized.
