How do you change dimmer switch on 1984 pickup?
Specify make and model of truck
Why did all of the dash lights not just the cluster lights go out on your 1984 Buick Park Avenue. All fuses have been checked and the dimmer switch is set to bright?
What causes the ignition switch to rotate without powering up the ignition system and not starting on a 1984 Chevrolet pickup with tilt steering?
The easiest way to remove an old brake light switch(also called stop light switch) is to break it off. Simply wedge a screwdriver between the switch and the metal bracket and twist. It will pop right out. The switch has 4 ledges that lock the stop-light switch into place. It's very difficult to remove without breaking it.
You have to remove the instrument cluster and the trim beside the air outlet vent beside the cluster. There is a nut holding the threaded part of the switch collar around the shaft thru the dashboard panel. If you remove that nut, the switch can be pulled back and can be seen thru the hole made by removing the cluster.
