I wasn't aware they still came with drum brakes... I've owned three and they've all been 4-wheel disc. If drums were still an option, it will take replacing all factory parts which are different from drums to discs and could be very expensive. This may include the wheel speed sensors and possibly the ABS unit itself. It doesn't sound worth the effort.
Remove the tire and wheel. Remove the brake pad springs and hardware. Remove the brake rotor. Reverse the process to install the new brake and rotor.
It doesn't have a distributor or rotor. It has a DIS (Distributorless Ignition System).
I would try distibutor cap and rotor.
remove the calipers, and caliper bracket on the back side of the spindle I believe it take a T-65 torx. rotor should just slide right off.
Change your brake rotor and brakes. problem solve
You didn't specify brake rotor or ignition rotor. If it's the brake rotor, remove the front wheel, remove the brake caliper, remove the bearing dust cap, remove the cotter pin, and then remove the castle nut, this will free up the rotor to be removed from the spindle. While it's off you may as well replace the wheel bearings. If its the ignotion rotor you simply remove the distributor cap, and then two screws hold the rotor on.
you have to change the rotor cuz the rotors slightly bent or its groover to bad and when u change the rotor change the pads as well on both sides
Remove the tire and wheel from your 1993 Chevy Lumina. Remove the brake assembly spring and the brake caliper. The brake assembly will come off. Tap on the rotor with a hammer or mallet. The rotor will slide off. Reverse the process to change the new rotor and brakes.
replace the spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, set the timing, replace the air filter and fuel filter.
The Murrano has two set of brakes on the rear, it has the internal one witch is your E brakes and then it has the regular caliper brakes. How to change the rear brake rotor? Well after you taken the calipers of you need to make sure you don't have your E-brake one. ( please make sure that if working on a drive way you shock the front tire) this will prevent the car from rolling. To change the rear rotor you have to hit the center of the rotor with a hammer. The rotor will pop out and then simply pull out and install the new one. NOTE: inspect the rear E-brake while you have the rotor out.
The brake pads are most likely worn and the metal backer is digging into the rotor. Check the brakes before a rotor breaks and you are without brakes.
Rotor blades are on a helicopter. Brake rotors or discs are on the brakes of a vehicle.
