You have to get a 4 wheel drive f 350 and switch the front ends, as well as some of the drive train to make it a 4x4. Its really expensive and not worth it unless you are a very big fan of the truck or have a sentimental reason to keep the truck. I heard it costs like 10K to go from 2wd to 4wd. You're better off just getting a 4x4 truck
no
It isn't feasible to convert from two wheel drive to four wheel drive.
NO it will not. The center shaft in the 2-wheel drive transmissions are shorter then the 4-wheel drive transmission cause there is no need for a transfur case on the 2-wheel drives.
Ford Explorers are either rear wheel drive , 4x4 ( that has a LOW RANGE ) for the transfer case , or all wheel drive ( which does not have a low range ) * up to the 2010 model year *
The shaft inside the trans will have to be changed it is longer in a 2 wheel drive and the taIL SHAFT.
My f150 shifts from 2wheel to 4wheel on the fly, but to use 4low you need to be stopped with your transmission in neutral to engage the low range in my transfer case.
