There is no governor. The rev and speed limiters are programmed to the ECU. You can get rid of the speed limiter and up your rev to 7500 by (direct bolt on) swapping the stock ECU for one from an Infiniti G20 or G20t (OBD2)
Is there a way to test a 1999 Infiniti g20t automatic transmission computer if so how?
check cooler line pressure. the car also does a self test. AT CHECK should be on the guage cluster with key on engine off, or the ecm self-checks it. there would be malfunction indicator lamp/s illuminated if there were a problem
Why is your infiniti g20 making noises?
have you tried rubbing soap on the inside of the fan belt while its running but in park? when fan belts are slipping they will make a squeaking sound because the parts that turn it cannot grip onto it which wears away at the fan belt. rubbing soap on the belt will make it adhere to the gears better which may eliminate the squeak. i have a 1999 g20t and the fan belt was located behind the front passenger wheel well. just touch the soap on the upper side of the belt from there. DO NOT TOUCH THE BELT WITH ANY PART OF YOUR BODY YOU LIKE. ONLY USE THE SOAP.
Why wont my 93 infiniti g20 start and the battery is new and nothing on the dash turns on?
We are having that problem with our 1999 G20t. My honey first had the alternator and battery checked (he removed them ad took them to Advanced Auto). Those were in great shape. We were told it could be the ignition starter switch or starter fuse. Those two parts are only available at the dealership and not too expensive if you can replace it yourself. We are looking fro pictures on the net that might show us were those are located in the car. Hope that works a little. cris
Reset check engine light infiniti g20?
We had the Check Engine light come on my wife's 2001 G20t at about 30-35,000 miles (currently have 57K). The conventional wisdom is that it's a Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) failure and that part can run as $400 retail at the dealer. If it truly is that problem, there is supposed to be a noticeable reduction in performance. She did not experience that - it runs fast and peppy as always. In our case, the short-term fix was can you guess?) black electrical tape on over the lit area on the dash panel! A few months ago the light went off, no change in performance, and we figured it could have been a bad electrical connection that worked itself out. This is not to say that you should ignore thecheck engine lightr. But diagnosis at a dealer or other shop is at least $100 (all they do is plug in a computer and read the code - a real money maker.) Ususlaly you will see other problems, usually other dash lights go on, too; and watch the temperature guage. Again, we had none of these problems and I guess we lucked out. We had a similar dash light warning for the windshield washer level sensor. the dash light went on, but the reservoir was full. We have always maintained this car very well. There is a small sensor switch near the bottom on the tank asnd I guess it would be a cheap part and expensive labor. butonce again the lgiht wnet off as mysteriously as it went on, we maintain the water level, and all is well. Sometimes these are just electrical glitches that work themselves out. Black electrical tape is much cheaper!
