replacing the slave will open your hydraulic system so it is best to flush the system before replacing the slave, so bleed the system first. there are many ways to do that, a pressure bleeder is best. But if you dont have one, get your friend to pump the pedal and on every downstroke open the bleeder valve or the line fitting if you old valve is broken.
Now overfill your master - as you will leak fluid during the swap. I put saran wrap on the master and tighten down the lid on it to make it airtight ( just for the swap ) It holds the fluid from draining.
Next make sure you hydraulic fitting is free then remove the mounting bolts on the body of the slave cylinder, remove the cylinder and replace with the new one. Tighten the mounts and hydraulic line. now you can remove the cap on the master, and open the bleeder valve. Let it set for a few minutes if you dont have a pressure bleeder, keep the master filled and it will gravity feed and begin to leak out of the bleeder valve. After that you will NEED to bleed it with your friend -again- same as you did at the beginning, but now you are bleeding with clean fluid. After all the air is bled out your ready to lube your pivot point on the lever, and drive away.
