remove the distributor cap and grab the rotor then pull straight up.
It would be recommended.
buy a new distributor cap and rotor. Unscrew the distributor cap (on the drivers side of the engine block), take note how the existing rotor is sitting, remove it, and place the new rotor in the same position. Put on the distributor cap and screw it into place... very simple job. thats how you change the rotor......he asked about the distributor....try again.
To change the distributor rotor on a1998 Honda Civic unplug the spark plug wires from the cap. Loosen the screws and remove the cap on the unit. Be sure to properly line the new cap on the distributor and install.
There is no distributor cap, only a ciol pack that the plug wires go to
Unscrew the screws holding the cap and lift it up and away from the distributor. Pull the rotor straight up and install the new one.

You remove your Water pump after that you'll figer it out
It's the distributor rotor that you are looking for & it's under the distributor cap. Remove the distributor cap and there you will find the rotor.
Ignition rotor and cap? Remove distributor cap usually clips or screws Rotor should lift off - replace in same position should have a "key" slot to insure proper position Install new distributor cap and transfer wires one at a time to insure proper placement
Remove the distributor cap. Do not remove the plug wires. Pull the rotor off or remove the screws that hold it on, it that applies, and revese the process with a new rotor.
