1)Detach the negative cable from the battery. (CAUTION) If the factory stereo is equipped with an anti-theft system, make sure you have the correct activation code before disconnecting the battery. 2)Detach the electrical connector and any ground straps from alternator. 3) Remove the fresh-air duct and the splash shield under the front of vehicle. 4) Unbolt the A/C compressor and set it aside, but don't disconnect the hoses. 5) Loosen the alternator adjusting bolt and tensioner bolt, then detach the drive belt. 6) Make sure the new(rebuilt) alternator looks identical to old one. Many new or rebuilt alternators don't have a pully installed, so you may have to use the pully from the old alternaor. 7) Installation is the reverse of removal.HAVE FUN ! -CE

No, take the battery out and bring it to an auto part store and they can test it.
