If you have an automatic transmission. Then you do not have a shift indicator light.
Look at getting a new transmission
There is an internal clutch failure.
IT COULD EXPLODE RIGHT THROUGH THE CASE.
You must fill it through the tube for the dipstick I suggest getting a new clean funnel
Yes. Any water fording above roughly the door frame can result in water getting into the transmission pan on an automatic.
It can be getting there through the head gasket, a crack in the head, or it may actually be transmission fluid if it has an automatic transmission. The automatic trans. cooler lines run through the radiator on most vehicles. If your unable to solve the problem, have the radiator pressure tested...
A clogged lubrication passage would cause a failure of whatever component is not getting the fluid.
It matters on what engine and transmission you are going to be using, lets say you are getting the same engine just manual tranny that along is about $1700 plus labor your looking at minimum of $2700 close to $3000 if you do not do it yourself.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I read once that the modulator valve for the automatic transmission has a vacuum line connected from the valve to the engine and that transmission fluid can be sucked into the engine if something goes wrong with the valve
Replace the transmission fluid from Honda Dealer.. simply drain from drain pitcock and refill. The damage may be to much at this point pending how many miles you have. There is no transmission filter to deal with. Worst case it may give you a little while longer on the transmission. ...this is assuming you have an automatic trans, that was not stated in the ? Honda automatic transmission are a weak link in their automobiles.
if you have 4x4 you can pull 1500 pounds but even if you do have 4x4 i suggest getting a transmission cooling system from uhaul if you have an automatic transmission because even though it says its okay to tow, if your tracker did NOT come with a tow package from the factory (which none of them did) then you need the transmission cooling system or you will fry your transmission and damage your transfer case.
Belt slippage usually results in a squeeling noise and the belt will eventually heat up and self-destruct. You may have a clutch problem if the power is not getting from the engine to the tranny. Or it can be a trans problem is something inside is worn and slipping. Check the transmission fluid if it is an automatic. If the transmission fluid is good and it is an automatic, you will probebly have to take it to a transmission shop. Very little can be done to repair an automatic without removing it from the vehicle. If it is a manual, have a qualified mechanic check the clutch. I've had the same problem,it turned out to be transmission problem. I had to pay $1400 to rebuild my transmission. The longer you drive with a bad transmission, the more damage is being done to it.
