pull right panel under dash it is held in by clips. directly under the blower panel there are 4 wires together.unclip the wires and there are two screws remove theme and the resistor will come out.
The blower resistor on a 1999 Chevy truck Z1500 is located behind the glove compartment. There is also a resistor on the firewall next to the blower motor itself.
The blower motor speed resistor is burned out. The resistor is located close to the blower motor and is easy to change. Your local auto parts store will have that part for you.
The blower fan resistor has rusted out and the contacts are broken. This is a cheap part (~$15) that takes about 10 minutes to install.
