IN MOST CASES YOU COULD REMOVE THE U-JOINT , AND YOKE RETAINER CLIP AND PRESS THE 2NDARY SHAFT OUT OF THE YOKE, (WITH A LITTLE HEAT) HOWEVER SOME ARE STAKED AT THE FACTORY AND ARE NOT SERVICED, YOU MUST PURCHASE A NEW SHAFT ASM. GOOD LUCK ON THAT, I JUST ORDERED ONE FOR A CUSTOMER AND WAS TOLD THERE ARE NONE AVAILABLE AND DONT HAVE AN E.T.A. ON IT. YOUR BEST BET IS TO TALK TO A DRIVESHAFT REBUILDER. GET ONE MADE, AND BALANCED. = 725.00 ISH WITH YOUR OLD C.V. (THE ROUND END) VMAX

What causes a carrier bearing to push out?

The rear section of the driveshaft has a slip yoke in it. This allows the rear section of the driveshaft to change length as the rear axle moves up and down. If this slip yoke binds, the change in length is absorbed by the slip yoke at the back of the transmission. Because the carrier bearing itself is fixed to the driveshaft, and the hanger that holds the bearing is fixed to the frame or cross member, when the rear slip yoke binds, it moves the entire driveshaft forward taking the carrier bearing with it, and pushing it out of the rubber in the hanger.

How do you change a drive line on a 1977 Silverado?

BLOCK THE WHEELS. IF YOU NEED TO LIFT THE VEHICLE TO GET UNDER IT MAKE SURE YOU USE JACK-STANDS. WORK ON A FLAT, LEVEL SURFACE. * Look at the rear of the driveshaft. There should be two "u-bolts" that hold the driveshaft to the differential. Remove the 4 nuts that hold the u-bolts into place. * If there is a center "carrier bearing", remove the 2 bolts that hold it into place. * Slide the driveshaft out of the transmission (or transfer case if it's a 4WD) * Note! you'll probably leak a little transmission (or transfer case) lubricant when you pull the driveshaft out of the splines so either be prepared for a mess or put something under it to catch the spill. When replacing the driveshaft make sure you use a new one that's the same length and has the same splines at the front and the same "yolk" at the rear. Put it back to gether in the reverse order.

How do you know when the center bearing needs replacing on a Chevy Silverado?

One way that I experienced is that I felt a vibration on my suburban when I reached a certain speed, about 30 mph. Then again at 60 mph. Or thereabouts. Also, get under your Silverado and try moving the center bearing. If it has a considerable amount of play, time to change it. However, are you sure that it's the center bearing that needs replacing and is that why you're asking. Chevy center bearings last a long, long time.

What will be different on Saturn your mass or your weight why?

Mass is a property of the object, no matter what else is around. It doesn't change, regardless of where the object is. Weight is the result of gravitational interaction between the object and something else, so it depends on what else is around. Your weight on Saturn would be different from your weight on Earth, because Saturn's mass is different from Earth'smass, and your distance from Saturn's center would be different from the distance between you and Earth's center.
