Hopefully your tank is not full of gas (but they all ways seem to go out right after you fill it up) LOL. If it is you need to siphon as much of the gas out as you can (a piece of hose and an inline fuel pump will make this go alot faster) make sure you have enough gas cans to hold it all (17-20 Gallons). Next Jack up the rear of the truck (dont forget to block the front wheels to keep it from rolling) some trucks had a plastic gas tank shield and some don't if it does there are 10mm bolts around the edge remove these and set shield aside. There are two straps running front to back under the tank, you will need a floor jack and a piece of wood (2x6,2x8) about a foot long to distibute the weight, loosen and remove the two rear bolts on the straps and slowly lower the tank. There will be three hoses and a wiring harness connector to unplug. Now there is a ring with a few tabs sticking up surrounding the pump, you will need a hammer and a flat head screwdriver to tap the tabs turning the ring in a counterclock wise rotation, remove the ring and lift the pump out of the tank. Installation is the reverse of removal. Also make sure you get the correct replacement pump the (Vin Z) T.B.I. engine only requires 9-15 psi while the (Vin W) C.P.I. (vortech) engine requires 45-60 psi (being a 93 SLE it is probable the vortech). If your not sure which engine you have there are two ways to identify it 1. Look at the engine if it is a vortech it should say vortech in bright orange on top of the engine. 2. Look at the Vin (vehicle identification numbers, located on the drivers side top of dash visible though the windshield) Numbers the 8th digit will be either a W or a Z (W=vortech, Z =T.B.I. Good Luck!
