Fairly straightforward to change the tdi glow plugs. They are located on the near side of the engine and the first thing to do is give them a good airblast to remove any debris and stop it falling into the glow plug hole after you've remove the plugs. Next loosen the top nut on each glow plug and slide away the connecting bar. Remove the plugs the same as you would spark plugs (ie with an appropriate size socket) and replace them with new plugs. Make sure top nuts have enough space to slide the connecting bar back into place - tighten holding nuts. Job done.
A TDI doesn't have spark plugs. It has glow plugs.
They are under the rocker cover. You'll need to replace the rocker cover seal aswel if your replacing the glow plugs.
how to fit glow plugs scoda octiva
there not the right wattage
There are no "spark plugs". The 4 on top of engine ( under the black or blue rubber looking harness) are your glow plugs. Then there are 3 to the right side of engine that are glow plug heaters for your engine coolant....At least that's what my mechanic showed me and how he explained it to me.
I have the problem with my 2001 tdi jetta. On REALLY cold mornings the glow plug light actually stays on and the car starts... In the hot weather the light only stays on for a second but starts pretty well... It is when it is 50-70 degrees that the light does not stay on and glow plugs are not heating up. pls let me know if you find anything out. It's driving me crazy. My Email is mikluschak@cavtel.net

You can reset the check engine light on your Mitsubishi Triton TDI by removing the fuse. Keep the fuse out for 10 seconds and replace it to its original slot.
Would be looking at the cause of the plugs going! They should last a LOT longer than 4-6 months, 4-6 years maybe!
A 1.9 TDI can hum at idle if the spark plugs foul. A clogged fuel filter can also cause this issue.
yes it can
