You have to remove the steering wheel, horn and turn signal assemblies. Make sure your wheels are straight before you remove the steering wheel. Remember the proper order of parts for re-assembly and get the GM steering wheel compressor tool as well as a good steering wheel puller. The switch requires the key in it to remove. There is a spring loaded catch at the rear of the cylinder that locks it into place. Once this is depressed, it will just pop out. Make sure the battery is dis-connected before beginning and if the compressor tool isn't available, get a buddy with a good set of shoulders to hold the wheel down while you place the main nut. A little tricky if you haven't done one before.
How do you replace the ignition swith opn a 1992 Pontiac Bonneville se
I have to jump start my Pontiac Bonneville 1988 everyday I drive it why is that.
Begin by removing the retaining ring at the top of your 1990 Pontiac Bonneville ignition switch. The ignition switch will slide out. Remove the wiring harness from the end of the ignition switch. Reverse the process to install your new ignition switch.
Answering "1999 Pontiac Bonneville fuel shut off switch?"
If its the kind with the special metal piece in the key there is no way to reset it you have to change the whole ignition switch
I don't know how to change the ignition switch but I have some advice. Don't screw with the ignition switch, buy the whole steering column. It will be cheaper and easier to change.
