How do you change the oil and oil filter on a 2001 Nissan Xterra SE?

unscrew drain plug (bottom of oil pan) let oil drain, unscrew oil filter (plastic shield under engine may need removed or may have a door to give access to filter)when installing new filter apply a thin coat of oil on o-ring and hand tighten reinstall drain plug add 4 qts oil start vehicle and allow to run 30 40 seconds turn off and check dip stick top off oil if needed restart engine and check for leaks.
