Place a catch pan under the red oil pan. You remove the Drain Plug with a 1inch socket or wrench. Let all the oil drain out. While you wait for the last drops to drip out, unscrew the oil filter on the exhaust side of the block. Be prepared for oil leakage. Screw back the drain plug but dont over tighten. A good tight snug fit is all you need. You should always use a new copper ring with the drain plug to ensure proper sealing. Put a new high quality oil filter back on where you took the old on off. MANN is a great filter. Then fill the engine with oil with the quantity specified in your manual. Do this by removing the oil filler cap on the valve cover. Do not overfill.
Wipe any oil off the underbody, especially around rubber engine mounts. Oil will break down the rubber. Use Castrol GTX or High Mileage GTX. They are excellent oils in these engines. Run engine and check for leaks. Then you are all done
Make sure the oil is full.
To change Volvo oil filled 940 engine mount, push a container under the oil drain plug. Unscrew drain unplug and remove the cap from the oil filler hole at the top of the engine. Unscrew oil filter to drain. Then change oil.

Change the oil. It comes on every 10,000 miles.
The oil to turbo is from the crank case. period no special reservoir. If you want to change the oil for your turbo simply drain the motor oil. I change my oil & filter on my '93 740 hotted up 3K miles even though Volvo says 5K miles No problems
