It depends on the type of engine you have... Mine is a 5.7 Litre Hemi and it's a 2006. You need to jack up the car with a floor jack and then support the car with jackstands, for safety. Next, remove the floor jack. Now you can crawl under the car. You'll need to remove the plastic cover from the area below the engine. It has quite a four (4) screws that are numbered so you know the order to remove and reinstall them. They are 10mm hex head machine screws. Once the cover is removed, lift the hood and unscrew the oil filler cap. Next you remove the plug from the oil pan (14mm Hex) and let the oil drain into a pan, allowing the oil to fully drain from the oil pan. Then put the plug back in and tighten it carefully until tight (DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN). Now remove the oil filter by unscrewing it in a counterclockwise direction. Next, to replace with a new filter, lubricate the "o" ring on the new oil filter by applying a thin film of oil to the contact surface of the "O" ring and hand tighten the filter in a clockwise direction as tight as possible using only your hand. Reinstall the plastic cover using the four (4) hex head 10mm screws. Install the four screws in the order of the numbers molded into the cover (1,2,3,4). Now add your new oil to the oil filler port on the top of the engine. It should take about 7-8 quarts of oil. Now screw the cap back on. The next thing to do is to jack the car back up, remove the jackstands, and then lower the car back down to the ground. Now, start the engine, let it run for a minute or two, shut it off, check the dipstick to make sure you have the right amount of oil, and you're done ....The charachter who wrote this before didn't have a clue (he didn't even mention changing the oil filter)...FYI
Every 3000-5000 miles

at 61,000 miles as it states it on the owners manual.

7 quarts.
If you use conventional oil then I recommend you change the oil/filter every 5,000 miles. If you use synthetic then change it every 8,000 miles.
The drain plug for a 2006 Chrysler Sebring is located either in the bottom of the oil pan or in the lower part of the side. Draining warm oil will make a faster and more efficient oil change.
Depending on which engine is in the 2006 Chrysler Sebring has, the engine takes between 4.5 and 5 quarts of oil. Check the oil with the dipstick before adding all of the oil, and add more as needed. Do not overfill.
Check the wiring for the oil sensor. It is located by the oil filter, and could have been pulled loos during the change.
