Remove the top to the air filter housing. The air filter housing can be found in the engine compartment. The air filter will easily lift out. Put the new air filter in.
unscrew old filter casing and pull out old paper filter , install new filter pushing into place, replace oil seal if provided and hand tighten filter casing to engine.
You can find the fuel filter in a Volkswagen Polo Classic on the side of the carburetor. On the parts, you should see one that has the word "filter" on it.
The oil filter on a 2002 VW Polo is located on the bottom, right side of the engine. It is designed to be readily removed with a filter wrench from under the vehicle.

On the 1.6 1998 Classic the pollen/cabin filter is under the piece of black plastic just near the windscreen on the passenger side. Theres a black rubber strip to remove first of all holding the black plastic in place. It runs the width of the engine bay up where the washer nozzles would be if the bonnet was down. Lift up the plastic and theres a square filter. Pull it out and replace it. I cant imagine the 1.4 is any different.
you don't clean fuel filters you replace them
it should be by the oil filter, which is in front of the block
