Remove and discard safety clips on wheel studs if any

Drum should pull off -if not hit the side of drum with hammer while applying pressure on the opposite side Usually this will free them

Actually you should remove the rubber stopper from the backing plate and loosen the shoes with the starwheel self adjuster. You see it from the outside- use a screwdriver and rotate the star wheel anti-clockwise and that will retract the shoes, making it so the drum slips right off easily. Hammering can damage the drums.. although if you're replacing the drums, it doesn't matter.
