on the backside of the knob (towards the dash) there is a little slot in this slot there it a staple looking thing you need to did in three with a screw driver or pick and pop the staple out then just pull the knob off it might be stubborn but will come off

If its a automatic,I had the same problem, take a small flat head screwdriver. And in the front of the shifter, facing towards the stereo is a little slit in the shifter and you will see a tiny U-shaped pin. put the screw driver between the pin an shifter an pop it out towards your deck and then pull the shifter up and off.
