Well......... The big question is, how much do you want to spend? You have to remove the engine to do this job. If you are equipped, then it will take anywhere from 10 to 15 hours. If you send it to the shop, the cost range is anywhere from $ 1,000 to $ 1,500.00. That`s just for the stator. Of course when the engine is out you have to replace certain gaskets and o-ring seals, no choice, plus you will want to change the fan sensor, thermostat, plugs, oil, filter, air filter, timing belts, and check anything else out, like the clutch, all for extra costs. A good stator after market can be had for $ 100. to $ 250. Plus all the rest of the parts will cost around $ 300. to $ 500.00. So, the whole job can be done by yourself, parts only for about $ 700.00, this does not include the clutch. For that add about $ 125.00. ........Now, if the bike is running well, and you really don`t want to do all this work, then there are 2 other options. One is called alternator conversion. http://www.dupli-tech.com/index.HTML tel-573-226-3934. Check it oun on the their web. Or ask Google for Honda gold wing alternator alternative. Looks good, no engine removal, cost around $ 600.00 bucks for the whole job. Plus you will have the amps that you need. The other option is also a car alternator that fits behind the lower and runs off a belt and the crank pulley. I lost the info fot the web site. If u want to search.......The 2nd option to fit behine the lower requires some machining of metal parts to fit. But, when its done, you do not see the alt. Good luck. Let me know, send me a messg. on my board. Thanks.

This is a diagram or a technical drawing of the electric wires leading from the stator. In other words, it has to do with the electrical wiring harness of the stator, where the bike's electricity is produced in the engine. Such diagrams can be found online several of the internet forums and websites about the Honda Goldwing. Many Honda Goldwing owners have posted plans and diagrams of this and other parts of the Goldwing's electrical circuits.
Yes, it is. However, there is separate gear oil in the final drive of the Goldwing, as it is shaft driven.
I use Motul 10w40. Check with your local dealer.
Any lower on those models, and the pipes will hit the road around the corners.
The oil drain plug is on the front of the motor below the oil filter.
