It will fit, just press the lower A-frame further down than what you are doing now. I used an anchor bolt to draw it down. It is difficult, but once done, no problem. The next answer might be correct if you are talking about actually changing the entire strut assembly yourself, i.e. take the spring off. Don't do that! However, if you are only going to replace the unit as an assembly then there is no problem. This Is Dangerous, You Need A Special Press To Change Struts.Buy Them Where They Also Change Them, Or Better Let An Alingment Take Care Of This For You. Rotate Tires & Get An Alignment While You Are There Also.

They pop on/off, the connection is a ball/socket like a shoulder joint. The strut has a metal spring clip that you can pry off with a flat screw driver if just pry between the strut and mount doesn't work to make removal of the old struts. The new ones you just have to push the socket onto the ball mount.

How do you replace the front struts on Hyundai Sonata 2000 model?

To replace the front struts on a 2000 model Hyundai Sonata, you will first need to remove the tires. There will be 3 nuts on top of the strut mount. You will need to remove the 2 bolts that connect from the strut to the knuckle. Then you will need to remove the ABS sending unit as well as the front brake hose. Once these components are removed, you can remove the strut. In order to remove the strut, you will need a special tool to compress the spring. Once the struts are removed, you can safely replace them with new struts.

How do you remove the strut bolts on a 2002 grand prix gt?

Need more information. Front struts? Rear struts? Basics are that you compress the springs first then start in the engine compartment (for the front struts) at the strut mount assembly or pull back your trunk liner to expose the rear strut mounts. You're also going to need either a torq socket or an allen wrench (I've seen both) to release the center retaining stud and hold the strut shaft while you remove the outer nut.
