There are certain steps to make this draining process as easy as possible depending on how much time you have and how well you want to empty, drain or flush the Transmission Fluid.
easy way: every 60,000 miles you can change the transmission fluid by using a pippet or thin hose long enough with a baby nose suction bulb. make sure you cut the tip of the suction bulb to desired width of pippet or thin hose. This suction process will take you about thirty minutes and is not as messy.
long way: This is a little more detailed since you have to actually remove the pan and the transmission oil filter depending on how many screws the pan has, this process will take two hours. Also have an old paint brush handy and a new pan (gasket) seal in order to thoroughly clean the inside of the pan and brush off any heavy oil grease in the transmission and oil pan. This will allow better care and flow of the transmission fluid.
Dextron/Mercon III will work for that transmission
