Assuming you have the equipment, i.e. wrenches, jack, four jack stands the same, a piece of plywood approximately 12 inches square, etc., jack it up, put the jack stands up as high as they go(safely)with the car level. Remove the pan, and trans fluid. Once you have gotten rid of the oil, put the pan back on. Using the plywood to spread the weight out on the pan and to help keep the jack from slipping out from under the trans, jack the trans up just enough to get the rubber mount to decompress a little. Start dissassembly by disconnecting the Battery, both terminals to be safe. Then, start by disconnecting the trans cooling lines at the trans and radiator(or trans cooler). The lines will drip oil so mop it up or wear it and slip on it. The engine will need to be blocked up and then the bolts in the trans mount can be removed. The crossmember will have to be removed which likely means the exaust will also have to be dropped or better still, removed. Disconnect the wiring linkage and cables from the trans. Now pull the bolts from the trans mounting to the engine block. The trans will have to be supported as you wiggle it to disgage it from the engine. Because you won't use the torque converter it can be taken out with the trans. When you put the new trans in, get a fresh rebuilt torque converter. The old converter would polute the trans fluid in the new trans and ruin it. This discertation assumes you have some basic knowledge of wrenches bolts and nuts and enough strength and common sense to take precautions you don't drop a two hundred pound trans on yourself. It smarts, I know. When you put it back together, you need to put the torque converter on the trans before install it to keep from damageing the front pump. Putting it back together is tougher than getting it apart, but only physically. Just itemize everything you do on the way out, and do them in reverse order when you put it back in. ENJOY!
