I just changed my washer pump and everyone told me it was underneath the battery. Not true! To get to it you need to take a couple of screws out of the front of the wheel well on the passenger side, 2 screws out of the bottom right in front of the wheel well, then pull the 2 parts apart and then you will be able to see it.
needs more fluid
2005 grand prix low washer fluid light is on
It is attached to the bottom of the washer fluid reservoir.
the bottle for the fluid is under the hood on the passenger side of the van towards the windshield.
Not sure about 1999 but on 1998, pumps and windshield fluid bottle are one assembly. Take out the windshield fluid bottle, you'll find two pumps at the bottom.

When changing fluids in a car, it is important to know the fluid capacity of the car. A 1999 Pontiac Grand AM holds about 5 quarts of transmission fluid.
If you have the hood open and are looking at the front of the car, It's on the front-right side, beneath the windshield fluid reservoir. Good luck getting to it.
When it runs out!
When changing the transmission fluid of a car it is important to know its fluid capacity. The 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix holds between 7 and 8 quarts of fluid.
you need to change the fluid. my 99 grand am does that, it feels like you're shifting a manual from 1st to 2nd.
DextronIII
yes
what is the part no# for a replacement transmission filter, for a 2001 Pontiac gtp grand prix . Also how much transmission fluid does it take to change.thank you Tim
Dexron III automatic Transmission fluid should be used in a 2000 Pontiac Grand AM. This can be picked up at almost any general store.
eny power steering fluid will work
The easiest way is to open the passenger side fog light. Then u can see the sensor connected to the wind shield fluid container, u can unplug it by moving it slowly and pulling it!
Both washers use the front reservoir

Look on the firewall behind the transmission fluid dipstick, just to the left (from the front) directly below the windshield wiper. That's were it is on my 98.
It is under the windshield washer fluid reservoir and bracket.
I have a 1999 Grand am se and it dont have a dipstick but it do have a red transmission fluid top on the right side of the 3400 sign that could be unscrewed but it don't have anything on it to check the fluid but you could stick your finger in it to see if its anything in it
transmissions in newer pontiacs are considered to be "non-servicable." meaning you shouldn't have to change the tranny fluid/filter. before finding this info out, i changed the tranny fluid/filter in my 01 grand am and it didn't make a bit of difference.
