1. Pray

2. Leave your old Church, Temple, etc.

3. Start going to your new Churc, templ, etc. if it is allowed before you are a member or taking classes or whatever.

4. Do what the religion requires (the new one).

Then you are converted (some you just convert in your heart to)

Answer

You may change your religious views at any time that you wish. Infact, it is important that you look into other religions in order to get an idea of what they believe. And just because you believe a few things in the religion are true, but you dont necessarily agree with all of it, doesn't mean that you therefore can't be a christian, muslim, catholic, buddist, etc. Remember to keep an open mind about what other people believe, and if you are, for example, christian, but you agree with some of the teachings of, lets say, buddism, that's okay. Because you're taking bits of information and then making your own interpretation of it.

You don't necesserily have to pray to become part of a religion, but you do if it's involved and practiced in it.

You simply tell anyone who asks what your religion is. A religious group is a collective of like-minded individuals, not an identically minded hive. The labelling of a person in order to fit them into a religion is very much a human characteristic, not one that God supports. It is within the tribal nature of humanity to form into groups (which inevitably attack other nearby groups), and the "religion" tag merely creates more of these groups.

By God's point of view, every individual is separate and detailed. Lumping yourself into a group doesn't impress him; but as an individual he is paying rapt attention to your thoughts and actions.

I am taking it that you wish not to be classed as a Christian or whatever religion you belong to, and not just to change the church you are attending. You can belong to any religion that takes your fancy, providing that you are willing to obey the doctrine of that new religion. If you are a Christion and wish to convert to Islam, then you must give up all belief that Jesus is the Christ.

Remember that the religion you belong to may bring you closer to God than the one you have a mind to convert to.

Think things out before you make any changes. Ask yourself why do I want to make the change, will the new religion offer me more than what I have now. It is your salvation you have to think of so choose wisely.

Maybe you are just asking a question, but my answer still stands.

Every year, some Muslims become Christians, just as some Christians become Muslims. There is no compulsion in religion. However, a former Muslim is likely to be regarded as an outcast by his or her community or even family. In some societies, a former Muslim can suffer persecution for apostasy. This is a decision not to be taken lightly.

You will no doubt have spoken to a Christian priest, clergyman or missionary who will guide you as to the steps you should take, according to your circumstances.

Love for God will motivate you to search for the truth of The Bible. Once you find those who are truly living by God's standards despite our imperfection, it would be logical to change your religion and associate with like-minded individuals.
