you need to have the same outlet and on the back of the dsi there is a spot to put one part of your charger in to charge
to stop the battery burning out the system prevents you charging the DSi just using an adaptor plug so you need to do one of the following
1. Get a USB charger. All game shops sell these and you can charge it off your PC or Laptop. this is the quickest solution
2. Get a step down adaptor. this is and advanced adaptor that prevents the higher voltages we have here damaging the dSi. I Found one on the internet but they seem hard to get
3. Order a new adaptor with a 4.5 volt out put. you can get these from play Asia a very reputable site for all gaming needs
I have an American DSi and live in Europe and did both 1 and 3.
The dsi is smaller and the dsi XL is bigger but they start up the same.
No, you can not hook a Nintendo dsi up to a tv.
