Have 2 resevors one for brake fluid most uses dot3 fluid its dark brown and thickish, tranny fluid can be pink mostly thin and has a dipstick for Transmission Fluid can be under your hood or if you have a big truck on your tranny or on side ofthe vehicle.

In the 1997 Mercury Villager, the Transmission fluid dipstick is located on the driver's side of the engine just in front of and below the master cylinder/brake fluid check. The 97 Villager has a bulbous knob on top with no indication that it is the Transmission fluid.
Check under where the brake fluid goes its hard to get too and you will need a long spouted funnel
