Try swapping it with the driver's side switch
you don't you replace it
That almost always means you need a new window regulator.
From my 07 manual:Start the engine. Push down and hold the driver's window switch until the window is fully open.Pull and hold the driver's window switch to close the window completely, then hold the switch for about 2 seconds.
Need to ask a complete question please. Yes, 98 olds should come with a driver's window.
your up down switch is most likely bad
I'm not sure if they changed anything between 2000 and 2002, but my 2000 window motor has 3 VERY breakable plastic clips that holds the motor in place around the gearbox.
Maybe its your driver-side window regulator that stopped working.
I have a 2000 oldsmobile and i had this problem with the drivers side. come to find out it was the switch and not the motor. If you check with a local junk yard you can pick up a good one for half the cost. I did replace the window motor but it still didnt work. i recommend the switch first then if that doesnt fix it then invest in teh window motor. save urself some money.
Both window switch on the front door will lower the window, the problem is that both switch will not raise the window back up to its close position and also the master window switch on the Driver's side will not operate all the time nor will the master door lock on the driver's side lock the passenger side door. On several ocasion the driver's side window switch lowered it's window and it would'nt raise the window back up unless after quite a few minutes playing with the window switch, opening the door, etc.
how replace vertical window guide channel
If your asking about the side door windows there are little latches at the bottom of the window that you pull up on and push the window out about 2-3 iinches. If you are speaking about the rear side windows, they are electric and you'll find the switch on the overhead control panel. If they don't work, you have a sticky window from non use, a bad attenuator, or a short.
