If the transmission is a gear shift, there is a large bolt on the side of the unit. Remove the Bolt, stick your finer in, and if you feel fluid close to the hole, it's fine. It it is automatic, pull out the dipstick under the hood. There is one for oil and one for the transmission. Always pull the stick out, wipe it clean and re-insert it, then pull it out again and check the markings at the bottom of the stick. It the fluid is orange/brown appearing it is well worn and needs changing along with the transmission filter.
You don't use clutch fluid for a manual transmission vehicle.
it goes in the dip stick tube.
first thing to do is check the transmission fluid
should but check with junk yard they have the book
A/T the same place you check it. Manual transmission, on the upper side of the transmission under the truck.A/T the same place you check it. Manual transmission, on the upper side of the transmission under the truck.
you need to check your transmission fluid while your car or truck is running to get accurate results
under the truck, on the side passenger side of the transmission case is a screw-in bolt for check/fill
The dipstick is on the passenger side of the truck, near the bottom of the engine and close to the firewall.
Some use manual transmission lube and some use automatic transmission fluid. Call your local Mazda dealer and make sure you use the correct one. Or just look in your owner's manual.
If you have an automatic transmission, check with the engine warm and running, The dip stick is located on the passenger side rear of the engine.
on the left side of the transmission about halfway up the side there is a square bolt. with the vehicle on level ground and "cold" remove this bolt. a small amount of fluid should come out (this means it is full) if not put your finger in the hole and try to feel the level. if you can't feel it you need to fill it (recommend a full drain and fill) if it looks black, chunky, thin or has water in it definitely drain and fill to drain undo the plug at the very bottom of the transmission. clean the plug to get as much metal of the magnet as you can (if it has one) once drained replace the plug using a new copper washer. where the square plug was use a hand pump to fill the box until fluid comes out the hole. replace plug. check for leaks
