The only real test for the fuel filter is to blow into it - if there's much resistance, it's plugging up.
Since it's out, you might as well replace it.

you can take fuel filter out on driver side underneath car crank it over if no fuel comes out pump is bad it would be a good idea to change the fuel filter anyway.

Check for Fuel in tank. Check Fuel Filter. Check Fuel Fuses.
If it isn't showing any codes (check the computer using a code scanner) I'd be suspicious of air and/or fuel filter.
