You can listen to it with a mechanics stethoscope while the engine is running it should sound like the other injectors. You can also use an ohmmeter to find its resistanc, there are specs, or you can compare to the other injectors if out of specs, you will need a new injector.
The 1997 Toyota fuel line connects the injector fuel pump with the fuel tank. The fuel line will travel along the right hand side frame rail to the fuel tank.
I believe it is a bad fuel injector or a gasket on one of the fuel injectors. Check all of them. They are right on top of the engine and not that hard to check.
Yes, This sounds exactly like what my 97 geo metro was doing. I replaced the fuel filter(thinking that was the problem, obviously it wasn't). Then I finally took it to someone who knew what they were doing and told me it was the fuel injector. I changed that and I haven't had a problem since. Sounds to me like it is definitely the fuel injector. check the fuel pressure controller and the idle control valve, if one is messed up better to replace both as they go hand in hand.
Check your fuel pressure regulator. $40-$50 is what it will roughly be. Should be somewhere on the top side of the engine connected to your fuel injector rail. That would cause your flooding problem. Shouldn't be hard to do on your truck.
Probably a sticking injector. If it's throttle body injected, that might just be the lowest port in the intake manifold, and the fuel runs into #2. If it's port injected and there is an injector for each port, check the #2 injector. It's probably sticking open.
On the fuel rail right in the middle of the intake manifold. Each injector shoots into a different cylinder. One for each.
Replace
Damper? I assuming you are talking about the regulator it is usually on the upper intake connected to the fuel injector assembly.
Possible causes of fuel in crankcase are: Leaking injector at shutdown, flooding of the engine due to hard starting, defective fuel pressure regulator. A fuel pressure check for drop of fuel pressure at shut down will verify if an injector is leaking. Get this fixed ASAP, and stop driving the car until you do. Fuel in the crankcase will cause severe engine wear and destroy this engine. Change the oil and filter if you have to drive it anywhere for repair.
check fuel pump, check coil pack.
There is a fuel pressure regulator mounted on the rear of the spider / fuel injector metering body that is under the upper intake plenum that will malfunction and dump fuel into the lifter gallery and mix it with the engine oil. You also need to check each fuel line coming from the spider unit for cracks.
A bad spark plug, spark plug wire, distributor cap, rotor, fuel injector, fuel pressure regulator, incorrect fuel pressure, dirty fuel filter, contaminated fuel (water),
