How do you interface a relay to a microprocessor type 89C51?

you cannot directly interface a relay to a microcontroller, you need a buffer circuit in between the two, you can use a NPN transistor BC 547, connect the controller pin directly to the base of the transistor (since there is an internal 10k pull up resistor inside the controller no need of any base resistor). Connect the transistors emitter to the gnd & the collector to the relay coil, the another end of the relay coil goes to the supply, check this link for complete information http://www.dnatechindia.com/index.php/Tutorials/8051-Tutorial/Relay-Interfacing.html

What is the purpose of the series resistor in your designed ammeter circuit?

You appear to be referring to a 'swamping resistor' which is connected in series with a moving-coil ammeter's moving coil.To minimise any errors due to temperature changes in the resistance of the instrument's moving coil, the coil is connected in series with what is termed a 'swamping resistor' whose resistance is large in comparison with that of the moving coil, and which is manufactured from an alloy with a very lowtemperature coefficient of resistance (i.e. a metal whose resistance is hardly effected by wide variations in temperature). For example, if the resistance of a 1-Ω moving coil increases to, say, 1.1 Ω, when its rated current flows through it, this will introduce a 10% error in the instrument's reading. But by calibrating the instrument with a series swamp resistor of, say, 49 Ω, the overall resistance at rated current will become 50.1 Ω. This will result in an error of just 0.2%.A swamping resistor, then, is an integral part of all moving-coil instruments and, when we refer to an instrument's 'coil resistance', we actually mean the combined resistance of the moving coil itself and its swamping resistor.

When is the resistor bypass used in the ignition circuit?

The resistor bypass in the ignition circuit is used when starting the engine. It bypasses the resistor to provide full battery voltage to the ignition coil, ensuring a strong spark for a quick and reliable engine start. Once the engine is running, the bypass is no longer needed and the resistor is re-engaged to limit the voltage to the ignition coil for normal operation.

How many terminals does a variable resistor normally have?

2 terminals. One is connected to the sliding contact. Other is to the coil of wire.

Is diode an active device?

What is the difference between a ignition coil and a pick up coil?

Ignition coils are generally external while pick up coils are generally internal to distributor

When Replacing 12v coil on 1998 Kubota engine wg750 could it have resistance type external wiring from coil to distributor or is resistance internal in coil?

A engine coil has a high internal resistance, the needing of a suplementar resistance may be advised to you by a car electrician, who works with such brand and model of your car.

I have replaced everything involved in my ignition system but still lose spark after driving for a short period of time if you le tit sit for an hour it will restart again any suggestions?

did you have your ignition coil replaced? the signs are that the ignition coil is overheating thus you are able to restart after an hour, when the coil cools. also check if your ignition coil has a resistor. if it has, have it checked for continuity. did you have your ignition coil replaced? the signs are that the ignition coil is overheating thus you are able to restart after an hour, when the coil cools. also check if your ignition coil has a resistor. if it has, have it checked for continuity.

How do I know if I need to replace the coil pack on my 99 ford ranger?

Make sure the power supply from the connector plug into the coil pack is correct and functioning. Also check the resistance of the coil pack with a digital ohm-meter to make sure it has no external or internal short circuits. If all this checks out OK, then the problem you are having is from somewhere else.

Where Is The Engine Ignitor Coil in a 1992 Mazda MX3?

There is two different kind of ignition on the mx3 if its a RS 4cyl, its using an external coil with is easy to locate following the wire from the distributor, its located near the fuse box on the driver side. if its a GS 6cyl, its using an internal one in the distributor, so you dont have any external coil. Note : RS from 1994 or more use an internal one similar to the GS one (but cant be interchanged)
