How do you check or fix a fuel pump secondary circuit fault on a 90 ford tempo?

Answer Defective ford tempo pumpI just replaced the fuel pump on my 90 tempo. the symptoms were not apparent during cold weather or when the gas tank was mostly full. On hot days it would run fine until it reached a certain temperature and then it would shut down and would not start for about 45 minutes. Keeping the tank full helps cool the pump(located in the tank) and cool or cold weather made the old pump work better. There is also an emergency fuel cut-off located in the trunk that is suppose to shut off the fuel in an accident. The emergency shut off is not likely the problem. Keeping the tank full will help cool the old pump and the old pump will fail more and more as time goes on or as summer tempetures increase.
