Remove it from the 400ex, spray the outside of the carb all off with carb./choke cleaner and blow it off w/ an air compressor, then take it apart one piece at a time, clean it, put it back together, and continue this for each piece. Make sure you lay down a clean towel or something and have a clean working area. If you have to take more than one piece off lay them down in order that they go back on. You dont want any dirt/debris getting into it at all.
