"Islam" or actually "Al-Islam" is the name given to the final form of God's guidance to Mankind.

In the Tanach, which is the Torah plus the Prophets [The Tanach is the Jewish Bible and is made up of the Torah, Nevi'im (Prophets), and K'tuvim (Writings)], reference is made to the coming of a final message and a final Prophet . That final prophet was to bring God's Kingdom - a way of life, a law for Mankind. The coming of the final Prophet meant that the non-Jews would enter into the Law of God. In Hebrew, it is said, the final Prophet would bring a system of life called "Shalama". Islam. [There is no such claim in the Tanach, and there is no word 'shalama' in Hebrew, that is Arabic.]

The religion of Muhammad is the same as the religion of Moses - with some changes due to the passing of time and the intent of God to make the final message easy for all people to follow. The basics, however, remain the same (and even many specifics of the Law). But what Jews follow (Judaism) is not the same as what Moses taught. [This is the claim of Islam but does not reflect fact.]

Islam differs from Judaism in just a few ways.

1) The Jews, according to Islam, were "chosen" to do a job. It did not mean that they were the only people of God. It did not mean that no matter what they did God would love them. They were hired to do a job. Sometimes they succeeded, and sometimes not. When Jesus (peace be upon him) came, it was to tell the Jews that the time had come for God to give His Law to "a new nation". Jesus spoke clearly about that. [The concept of 'chosen' simply means that the Jews were chosen to keep the Torah. There is no concept in Judaism that Jews are the only people of HaShem. According to the teachings of Judaism, all people are of HaShem and it is far easier for non-Jews to live righteously than it is for Jews. As for the covenant between HaShem and the Nation of Israel, He stated that this covenant is eternal as per the Tanach.]

2)Since the Jews had developed the idea that only they were 'special' to God, they had to get rid of Abraham's first born son, Ishmael. Muhammad was a descendant of Abraham through Ishmael. Ishamael was included in the Covenant God made with Abraham. But the Jews, centuries after Abraham and some time after Moses, altered the text of the Torah to make it seem that Ishmael was not included in the Covenant. [Once more, there is no such concept within Judaism that only Jews are 'special' to HaShem'. Nor was the Torah altered to remove Ishmael. The Torah is very clear that Ishmael would be the forefather of a great nation, however, separate from the Nation of Israel. The claim that the Torah was altered is an attempt to invalidate Judaism and Jews.]

3)Muhammad was the foretold Messenger of the Covenant. Even his name, "Mohammodim" is mentioned in the Song of Solomon. Muhammad is mentioned throughout The Bible, in fact. This is kept hidden from Jews and Christians by their religious leaders. If you want proof of this, just go and Google the phrase: Muhammad in the Bible, and see for yourself. [The word 'Mohammodim' does not exist in Hebrew, nor does it exist in the Tanach. Contrary to Islam, where the goal is to memorise the Q'uran, often learning it orally as opposed from a written text, in Judaism, each individual is require to read the Tanach in the original language it was written, even the greatest scholars are required to read from a written text when discussing and praying.]

Islam can be compared to Judaism by the similarities. Islam believes that there is one God named Allah (SWT) and Muhammad (PBUH) was the last Messenger of Allah (SWT). On the other hand, Judaism believes that the Messiah is yet to come. So, both religions may have similarities. But they also have major differences.
