I am not sure if there are any other solutions, but the most direct one is to create a user on the laptop with the same user-name and password and the same access level (administrator/regular-user), as on the desktop computer. Then login as that user on the laptop and the files should be accessable. Also, with an administrator account on the laptop, you may be able to "Take Ownership" of the files on the external drive. If the files are encrypted and you don't have the password, this won't help. I don't know the effect if the two computers have different versions of Windows, a lot could depend on this. Kevin
You type in the password, or ask the person who already knows it.
There is no protected password to install minecraft but you do need an account created on the site and then pay for the game to play it

Use the password ! If you don't have the password - you cannot access it.
The computer needs at least one account with full privileges in order to allow the installation of software. By default, the computer will come with such an account - the default administrator account. Since the account has full privileges it really needs to be protected such that only someone who is supposed to have full privileges on the machine can access it. The protection comes in the form of password protecting the account.
Depends which password. If it's asking you for your account password, then it's a scam, they're trying to steal your account. If the server is simply password protected, then you need to look into getting yourself authorised as only people who the owners allow can play on it. Try looking for their community forum or website.
You can make a password-protected user. On most versions of Windows, it's Control Panel - User Accounts (or similar) Then, it's pretty straightforward to create an account. The password protected areas will be your My Documents (anything in your personal folder if you have vista/7) You can also make a password-protected folder (with 7-Zip, WinRAR, etc.) that would make the files inside inaccessible without entering the password.
You know what your password is because you are the one who created the account and put in the password.
Hold Windows key and press L That will lock your account. If your account is password protected then you will get a password prompt to enter that account again.

To hack an unlimited Internet connection would require finding someone with an unlimited account. Then, you have to break their password if it is protected. To hack into someone's Internet account without permission is illegal.
