To crop a clip in iMovie you need to click on the Crop button (usually the second button from the right between the i and microphone buttons), adjust the cropping lines in the viewer until you have the desired crop and then click on the Done button in the top right corner.

∙ 13y agoTo crop any audio or video section, first select the piece. Drag the playhead to the desired point to crop. Press command (apple button) and T simultaneously to crop it. Select the undesired section and press the delete button.

∙ 11y agoThe iMac comes with iPhoto preinstalled. Import the image into iPhoto and then click the photo and click Edit on the bottom of the screen in the menu. You can then crop the photo.
