Valet mode: The LED button on the dash will turn on the valet mode when pushed in and turn off valet mode when pushed out. When in valet mode, all alarm functions are by-passed, except the panic function and door locks.
Intrusion notice: If your alarm has been activated, your truck's horn will honk 4 times when the vehicle is unlocked. Take note of the pattern of the LED button's flash on the dash.
These intrusion warning indicators are stored in the system's memory and will be erased when the ignition is turned to the on position.
How to disarm the alarm if you lose your transmitter or if the battery is weak:
The valet switch can be used to disarm the alarm when can not disarm the alarm with the transmitter. Open the driver's door using the key. 'The horn will sound'. Make sure the LED valet button is in the off (out) position, then turn the ignition key on. Press and release the LED valet button to the on ( in) position. The system will disarm and the vehicle can now be started.
Programming the alarm to arm/disarm silently:
Even if your alarm is run silently, if an intrusion is attemped your alarm will still indicate this with 4 chirps when the alarm is disarmed.
Panic Button:
On the transmitter, hold the lock button for 3 to 4 seconds. The horn will honk continuously until you press the lock button again to turn if off.
Replacing battery in transmitter key:
Try replacing the battery first. If the transponder still doesn't work, start searching the 'Net for a replacement key.
Deactivate the battery
Transponder is invalid. Either the transponder is not activated (or has been deactivated for some reason), or you have insufficient funds to pay the toll, or your battery is low. If the transponder has been working fine and you know you have funds available, swap out the battery.
Put your key in "on" position, and install the new battery.
I know if you just change the battery you hold down the lock and unlock at the same time for about 10 seconds. This will reset the transponder.
The same way you started it before replacing the battery.
my battery is still on after changing battery and altnator
Pry open key at slot on side with small screwdriver. Lift out battery and transponder from key. Pry off gray battery lid, and replace battery positive side up. Reassemble key. Before key transponder will work you must disconnect the negative cable to the car battery for 30 seconds. Then reconnect the car battery and hold down the panic button until the alarm sounds. You are done.
Push the special button on the radio.
The alternator is probably bad. That is what recharges your battery
