A frying pan 'up side of his head usually puts a stop to this condition. If not, distract him, then a quick roll down a flight of stairs will do the trick. Really, I am trying to lighten a very serious situation. Just do not ever tolerate verbal abuse, even once. Get out. Fast. You deserve better, and do not go back. No money, or home, or car, or clothes, or any material possession is worth your soul. Which you will lose when you allow yourself to continue in a sick relationship.
You will have to have lots of patience. An abuse victim will be very insecure, easily offended and may struggle with even the most simple tasks. In order to live with her, you will have to try and understand her and boost her confidence where possible. You can not achieve this all of the time, but you can try. Some abuse victims will try to make their abuser attack them intentionally, especially those who were abused as children. They do this as the only type of 'love' they understand is in the form of aggression and pain. These victims do not need to be hit, they need some help and some counseling. Try the best you can to support her, but you cannot speed the process of recovery if she is not willing to try and let go. 'Letting go' is one of the most difficult tasks for a victim. Realizing at an unconscious level that all of the abuse is over, and she now has an opportunity to live her life and be happy.
You don't.
You get away.

Verbal hostility, or in other words, verbal harassment or abuse is basically a negative defining statement told to or about you or withholding a response and pretending the abuse is not happening. Verbal abuse (or hostility) can lead to emotional abuse and hostility in the workplace. This can lead to hatred and noneffective dispositions in the workplace, and this is precisely the reason why workplaces work to eliminate such disturbances. However, verbal abuse is seen in many other places, not just in the workplace. In school, it takes the title of bullying and even at home parents can emotionally abuse their children or spouses.
That could be called verbal abuse.
