There are three ways. 1: Some axles have tags on them that list axle ratio, required fluid, posi if equipped. 2: The dealer can tell from the VIN number. 3: If you count how many times you have to turn the drive shaft to get 1 full turn of the tires. ie: 3.5 turns to get 1 turn would be a 3.55:1 ratio.
