You have no business attempting any repair to the SRS. Serious injury can occur or the air bag could deploy prematurely if you do something wrong. So, therefore you have no need to know what the codes mean. Take this to the dealer for repair. The SRS system is possibly still under warranty. There will be no Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC), because it is not an engine issue. The SRS (Airbag) light will stay on permanently if the SRS fuse has been removed or either front seat has been removed. If you know what caused the problem and know that it is now fixed, see Josh Zworg's how-to: http://www.geocities.com/myintegra96/srs.html
To get stored codes you need a OBD 2 reader or scanner. Or take it to local auto parts store and have them hook it up to there OBD2 scanner

When the light comes on, your car has stored a trouble code. I would have the codes extracted(PEP BOYS/AUTO ZONE) to determine the problem.Sometimes it can be minor, but there can be 30+ different codes.
Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem
Go to Auto Zone's web site and type in Engine Trouble Code. They have a list for your vehicle and explains how to.
