Has no governor. Computer controlled. The only way to disable is to reprogram the computer.
The federal government now requires that ceiling fan light kits be limited to a maximum of 190 watts. When the light is first turned on, a small current is passed through the bulbs and the wattage limiter, verifying that you have not exceeded the 190 watts.
A surge limiter (or surge suppressor) can be installed into your electrical panel to help protect your home from dangerous electrical spikes. It is usually installed in conjunction with a lighting arrestor. You can also buy single use surge protectors for sensitive appliances, such as computers, tv's, and stereo systems.
Hack the PCM. Removing or changing the rev limiter value in the prom.
I have one and most of the folks on the Impala SS forum believe the speed to be 145. I've personally had mine to 144 and that was all of it. I have a few mods on mine as well. I hope this helps I had an 94' caprice LT-1 w/tow pack , Took off the top speed limiter in the pcm''STOCK'' w/catback exhaust .Went 145mph and was still going! Don't think it would do 150mph. But could hit 147-148mph if I stayed on it . I think any good running94-96 SS can run over 140+mph
The McLaren Mercedes Slr haves a top speed of about 335 KMPH (208 MPH) wheres the 2005 SL65 AMG without electronic limiter does 338 KMPH (210 MPH) Since the numbers are this close it is really hard to tell who is the winner.

The only way to "disable" the "governor" is to reprogram the ECM to delete the fuel cut off point.
Do you mean the REV Limiter? It is in the computer. Can't remove that!
There is no governor on this car. The speed is computer controlled by a rev limiter or fuel shutoff.
You don't disable it. You get a new one. You can buy aftermarket computers that change the speed limiter. Or you can be cheep and buy one from a totaled police interceptor from the junk yard.
You do not, this is regulated by the ECM. The car's top speed is 108mph.
It's an electronically controlled engine, and the speed governor is programmed into the ECM.

The engine computer is the rev limiter. You would need a devise capable of reprogramming the engine computer.
It does not have a governor. It may have a rev limiter which is comouter controlled.
It doesn't have a governor pressure sensor. The "rev" limiter is part of the computer programming and can not be changed.
By changing the parameters in the engine ECM.
