Get a repair manual for your truck, because you will need to cut the wires out of the ignition switch, and bypass the alarm.
The best way to disable a Viper brand alarm is to remove it completely and put all wiring back to the stock locations.
From what I have read, there are two options to the consumer:1. Slightly hold the brake while backing (cannot confirm this works)2. Fasten seatbelt or bypass seatbelt safety switch by shorting the two wires under the seat going to the seat belt latch. (I shorted the two wires and it gets rid of the annoying reverse alarm and seatbelt alarm when I just want to take the trash down the road!!! - kills two birds with one stone!)
Burn out the whole truck disconnect the battery do not ever drive the truck there are more but these will work. You are welcome
You can't. It is part of the computers' programmings.
there is no fuse for the reverse lights check the netural safety switch it may be out of adjustment or shorted.
It does not have one. you will need to pull the fuel pump relay, or the fuel pump fuse to disable the fuel pump. Ford is the only one that had a shut off switch / INERTIA switch.
When the shifter goes to the reverse position a switch is depressed to turn on the back up lights. The switch is most likely on the top of the transmission.
I have a 2004 F150 Heritage and was having an issue with the alarm going off when I tried to start the truck. You should have a black button under the driver side dash down by the Hood release that is the kill switch for the alarm if you hold that down while starting the truck it should keep the alarm from sounding and killing the engine.
instructions to disable chime can be found in the ownere handbook that came with the truck it is disabled thru the computer in truck
Pull up the boot from the shift lever, look down at the transmission.. you'll see it there.
I may be wrong but it sounds like your alarm is the problem. This happened to my brother's van(Astro). The built-in cutoff switch in his alarm was preventing the van from starting. It may be possible to disconnect the alarm system and try to start it. That's what my brother did and it worked.
