That depends on which Browning centerfire semi-automatic rifle you are addressing - there are more than one.
Visit the Browning web site to get an owner's manual for field stripping instructions or locate the Gun Digest Assembly/Disassembly book for centerfire rifles for detailed disassembly instructions.
Go to the Gun Digest bookstore at
http://www.krausebooks.com/category/firearms_knives and buy the Gun Digest Assembly/Disassembly manual for sporting rifles. The Marlin 30-30 is in there.
funny question because im having trouble reassembling the model 20.
dissasembly starts with unscrewing the bolt under the fore grip that holds the barrel to the stock.
then unscrew the tiny screw at the rear of the weapon that holds the cap that contains the springs. then undo the spring cap slowly on hold it firm or itll fly out every where.
once that's out romove both the spring keeping them together . then slide the cocking pin back and it should slide out of the bolt . then hold the rifle upright with the rear facing down and the bolt should drop out. you may need to give it a push depending on how clean it is.
if you find out the propper way to reassemble please let me know. iv done it a million times before but apparently by fluke . just cant seem to get it back together .
Right so its back together. turn out the cocking handle wasnt slinding all the way into the bolt properly.
got any more issues let me know iv got my stirling firing perfect now . i can put a hundred rounds through it with out one single jam
