Typically there is a plug into the compressor with two wires. They activate the compressor. Just unplug it.
There is no reset on the disconnect, you will need to check the fuse's at the disconnect and replace the on that is bad. But most likely if you blew a 60 amp fuse you have a short somewhere, check your termanals at the compressor to see if the compressor went to ground.
If it has multiple belts, remove the belt which goes to the compressor. If it has a serpentine belt, reroute the belt so it bypasses the compressor.
The ac compressor may be on its way out and binding. Disconnect it before it fills the ac system with trash.

Yes. Disconnect the belt & it will run fine.
Disconnect the air lines to it, unbolt it, installation is opposite of reverse. You should be able to look at it and figure it out.
The air conditioner/compressor sits on the front passenger side on top of the fender. Remove the water reservoir and then you can disconnect and remove the air compressor. I do not know yet how to remove the air dryer as I cannot see how to remove the air lines from the dryer. I did remove the dryer from the compressor though, by removing a single screw then turning the 1/4 turn and pulling it out of the compressor....so at worst I will be able to put my new compressor in with the old dryer.
Disconnect the oil and air lines to the compressor, disconnect the fuel pump (if yours is attached to the compressor), remove the bolts holding it in place, clean all mating surfaces of any remaining gasket material, transfer any fittings from the old compressor to the new one, and reinstall it.You want anything more specific, we need to know which engine and which model years, as some models with the MaxxForce engine used a non-unloading compressor which was driven by the flywheel.
The conclusion of and air compressor is a supply of air. The air compressor generates air that is stored in a tank.
Pull the A/C fuse or disconnect the wiring at the compressor. The A/C comes on to provide drier air to help defog the windows. You can de-select the A/C by pressing the A/C button on the dash, when you turn on the defrost.
