1.disconnect positive battery cable wait About 5 sec 2.then reconnect battery( p+cable+) car alarm will honk continuious . insert key in driver door turn right then left and repeat (R+L+R+L) to stop alarm from honking . 3.final step! ON YOUR KEYPAD AT THE SAME TIME HOLD DOWN unlock and lock wait apprx.7 sec when your car honks once and lights flash this means your keypad has been reset and will sync keypad to factory alarm.
Your alarm needs to be reset. Look in the manual for instructions. The alarm was probably arms when you changed the battery an now the alarm computer is thinking that it is being triggered by the ignition.
Pontiac sets their car alarm sensors to max sensitivity by default. Consult your owners manual on how to turn it down/off.
