Pull the fuse for the alarm system.
This answer seems so simple but how do you know which fuse for dummies like me? Also does this work on other makes of cars? I have a 98 Suburu Outback I'd liek to pull that fuse in.

your ignition switch is hanging up in the crank position.
It's called VATS bypass and you can get them on eBay cheap.

is a security feature/ anti theft. usually there is a crimped wire in the steering column that needs repaired, or in the case of my 93 it is the switch itself that has gone bad

Clean the resister on the key with alchohol, dry and try to start the car.
The security light has a faulty fuse and needs replaced. The vehicle not starting unless boosted means the battery has a dead cell in it .
kind of had same problem but turned out to be something else but a guy who had a Monte Carlo pulled up to us and told us if our problem was the security light to turn on the ignition to the on position do not start car and leave for 10 minutes and then turn off and then try starting car and that should reset the security light he said it happened to him and that is what Chevy told him to do and it worked for him.
you can not turn off the governor you can have a new computer chip installed in the ecm and the truck will go alittle faster
not sure about a factory remote-start feature, but most aftermarket units are set for 10 minutes
